The AprilAire AUV24V Residential Ultraviolet Light UVC Coil Cleaner installs over the evaporator coil in your central cooling system (air conditioner or heat pump) and is equipped with a powerful UV lamp designed to prevent and destroy germs, mold spores, and biofilm that can grow on the coil and surrounding areas. Keep your HVAC system clean and running at top efficiency, using the same UVC ultraviolet wavelengths as the sun, saving you electricity and preventing the coil from becoming a source of poor air quality circulating within your home. When mold and microbial growth build-up and coat the coil, they act as an adhesive and attract dirt and biological contaminants. A “dirty coil” impedes heat/cool transfer efficiency by as much as 15% and you may detect an odor emanating from your HVAC equipment. Accumulated biofilm also restricts air flow, which decreases energy efficiency and increases the fan pressure or pressure drop across the coil causing the system to work much harder to maintain the same air temperature in your home.
With the cost-effective AprilAire Coil Cleaner system, you can attack the microorganisms on a molecular level with germicidal UVC light and deactivate the contaminants as you continuously clean the coil. The AUV24V system kills up to 99.9% of mold on surfaces*, returning cleaner air to your living spaces. Unlike other UVC lamps on the market, AprilAire UVC units and systems use a process designed to deliver the maximum UV dosage to the moving airstream or surface. Worry free operation and continuous sanitization – the AUV24V is an automatic unit that is designed to run constantly when powered on. When you see the blue glow through the viewport and solid indicator light on the ballast, the system is destroying microbes on the coil to support better air quality for your whole house and family. Flashing LED indicator lights also report maintenance conditions for ease of servicing and troubleshooting.
Easy installation with two mounting options – external bracket and internal magnet. Low maintenance – lamp should be replaced annually. Detailed instructions included. Do not install within six feet of flex duct, near the HVAC air filter, outdoors or in a wet location. Never expose eyes or skin to an operating UVC lamp. Electrical information: 24 VAC, 17 Watts. Safely operates in a temperature range of 10 to 66 degree Celsius (50 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit). Warranty: 5-years on the ballast and 1-year on the lamp. Expended UVC lamps can be disposed of or recycled after use as you would any other fluorescent lamps.
